Jimmy Li

CTO, Clear Skies Hydrogen

Jimmy Li joins the Breakthrough Energy Fellows program from Clear Skies Hydrogen (CSH2) in Allentown, PA. Jimmy is the CTO of CSH2, and has worked in industrial technology development and commercialization in clean industrial gases, energy, and engineering software for nearly 30 years. His experience covers much of the hydrogen value chain: he has worked across production, transport, and end use. Jimmy is responsible for technology and product development for CSH2’s hydrogen refueling solutions.

CSH2 was founded to solve the “chicken-and-egg” problem of hydrogen vehicle refueling, with the ultimate goal of delivering diesel-parity cost and operating convenience to fleet operators. Starting from the fundamentals and decades of industry experience, CSH2 takes a clean sheet approach to reduce cost, improve reliability, and allow fueling networks to evolve as the vehicle fleet grows in size. Through the Fellows program, CSH2 will build and field-test a prototype of its core technology to demonstrate its readiness for commercial operation.

Jimmy has a Master of Science and a PhD, both in Mechanical Engineering, from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Wharton Executive Management Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania.
