Kang Hui LIM
Kang Hui LIM joins Breakthrough Energy’s Innovator Fellows program from CRecTech in Singapore. Equipped with skillsets in technoeconomic analysis, chemical process modeling, and system optimization strategy, Kang Hui is responsible for helping CRecTech navigate the business and scale-up development of their novel renewable bio-methanol technology. Kang Hui is currently completing his Ph.D. study in developing novel materials and processes for sustainable catalytic applications in renewable energy.
CRecTech has developed a novel catalytic process that simplifies current bio-methanol production, significantly lowering carbon footprint and production costs, making renewable methanol fuel more affordable for end consumers. Through the Fellows program, CRecTech will advance their technology readiness level, moving closer to demonstrating their solution and establishing a suitable supply value chain to deploy their renewable bio-methanol technology.
Kang Hui was inspired by his dad, who worked tirelessly with night shifts over the years operating a chemical process plant- a result of accumulated knowledge and perseverance. Such human innovation has uplifted the standard of living for many, and Kang Hui believes the same could be done to combat climate change. Kang Hui earned two bachelor’s degrees with first-class honors in Chemical Engineering and Quantitative Economics at the National University of Singapore.
