Wang Xun
Wang Xun joins Breakthrough Energy’s Innovator Fellows program from Lincore in Singapore. At Lincore, Wang Xun focuses on leading the technical development of cutting-edge electro-metallurgical recycling technology for lithium-ion batteries, driving sustainable solutions from lab to commercial scale. His expertise lies in electrochemistry and its applications in both energy storage and conversion.
Lincore is developing a universal, electrified refining solution to recover critical materials like Lithium, Nickel, Cobalt and Manganese from spent Li-ion batteries into ready to use low carbon precursors for sustainable battery manufacturing. Through the BE Fellows program, Lincore focuses on de-risking the technology with a strong focus on techno-economics while scaling up their refining systems from lab scale to functional pilot scale.
Wang Xun’s personal interest in recreational fishing has deepened his appreciation for nature. Witnessing firsthand how climate change and environmental pollution affect marine life further fuelled his passion for developing sustainable, eco-friendly solutions that protect natural ecosystems for future generations. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Science and Engineering from National University of Singapore. He also earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science and Engineering from National University of Singapore.
