Electra

Electra is decarbonizing ironmaking to address the 10% of total global carbon emissions annually created in the iron and steelmaking process.

Leveraging proven industrial-scale electrochemical and hydrometallurgical processes, the team is developing rapidly scalable solutions to remove CO₂, improve sustainability, increase circularity, and meet the growing demand for green steel across the supply chain.
Electra’s process radically lowers the temperature for ironmaking, replacing coal energy with intermittent renewable energy, and utilizing all-grades of ore. The resulting pure iron is converted to steel using the existing and growing infrastructure of electric-powered arc furnaces, forging a decarbonized future for clean iron and green steel.
