Breakthrough Energy conducted a national survey in July 2023 with Hart Research Associates to assess voters’ support for Direct Air Capture and its role in helping reduce global emissions. The topline takeaway is that while respondents are generally unaware of Direct Air Capture as a carbon removal method, there is strong support for the technology when they are provided with more information. This includes majorities across all political backgrounds approving of recent government investments in Direct Air Capture.
