Aaron joined Breakthrough Energy in 2021 as Vice President of Partnerships. To achieve a path to net zero emissions by 2050, he works with a globally diverse ecosystem to scale the technologies we need.
Prior to joining Breakthrough Energy, Aaron spent 10 years at Facebook creating and strengthening telecom and infrastructure partner ecosystems. This work accelerated the deployment of new solutions that will help billions of people get connected to the internet for the first time and will allow billions more to become better connected. Aaron co-founded and served on the Board of Directors of the 500+ company Telecom Infra Project (TIP) that is advancing the infrastructure that underpins connectivity. This involved defining, launching, and driving collaboration-centric global programs with start-ups through Fortune 500 companies and engaging with policy makers, regulators, development banks, and trade associations. Earlier at Facebook, Aaron built a team that supported the company’s rapid transition from desktop to mobile while leading many of the company’s most strategic partnerships, including Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, and dozens of others.
Before Facebook, Aaron spent over 10 years building partnerships and incubating, deploying, and scaling apps and services foundational to the mobile internet. This included work at Qualcomm leading partnerships with the first wave of mobile content and app providers and at PacketVideo driving product launch activities for the world’s first commercial deployments of mobile video services.
Aaron holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern and a BA from Haverford College. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, is always looking for great book recommendations, and is a lifelong and diehard San Diego Padres fan.
