Aarthi Ajit joined Breakthrough Energy in February 2023 as an Executive Business Administrator for the Europe team, based in Brussels.

Prior to Breakthrough Energy, Aarthi spent four years as a research assistant at the Economic and Commercial Department of the Embassy of India to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union. During this time, she supported the day-to-day work of senior diplomats as well as the management of visiting trade delegations to Belgium.

Born and brought up in Dubai, Aarthi has a PhD in Anthropology from Université Paris Nanterre and a M.A. degree in Material & Visual Culture from University College London. Earlier in her career, she worked in the fields of oral history and archive management in New Delhi and Bengaluru.

Since moving to Brussels with her husband, Aarthi has developed a green thumb. She enjoys cooking, cultivating her garden and supporting local projects in her neighborhood.
