Claire Murray is an Associate of Government Relations with Breakthrough Energy’s U.S. Policy and Advocacy team. In this role, she advances the mission and goals of Breakthrough Energy by advocating for the acceleration of climate and clean energy policies through legislative and government relations strategies.

Prior to Breakthrough Energy, Claire interned on Capitol Hill for a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee. She was also a part of the field team for a highly contested Iowa Congressional campaign. After graduation she spent time working in the financial sector in Cleveland, Ohio.

In 2021 she graduated from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio with a major in Political Science and a minor in Statistics. While there, she was a proud member of the varsity swim team. She currently lives within the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In her spare time, she is attending farmers markets, going on hikes, visiting her older sisters, and looking for new podcast recommendations.
