Kristen is a global communications professional, passionate about applying her skillset and experience to mission-driven initiatives. She and her team lead the experiences and programs that connect Breakthrough Energy’s expansive network and enhance our reputation. She develops and optimizes the overall event strategy, evaluates and negotiates sponsorships, and works to strengthen Breakthrough Energy’s presence in the global climate conversation.
Previously, Kristen developed multi-channel communication efforts spanning print, digital, television, social, and events. She led a team at a global strategy and events agency that connected brands such as Samsung, Facebook, Google, and the Obama Foundation with their audiences through large-scale events, strategic communication plans, digital marketing, influencer campaigns, and brand identity development. Kristen was also responsible for developing the inaugural Priztker Forum on Global Cities event, a multi-day program that brings together public and private sector world leaders to discuss and implement strategies to make a positive global impact.
Kristen received her B.A. in Communications and Journalism from the University of Iowa. She lives in Chicago with her husband and two always-active young boys. She loves lakefront activities, Cubs games, the incredible food scene, urban hikes, and yes, even the winters.
