Lidya is a strategic leader with a passion for translating vision into action. In her current role as Strategy & Operations Senior Manager on the Communications team at Breakthrough Energy, she manages the team’s budget, strategic planning, resource allocation, cross-functional coordination, and handles special projects.
Prior to this role, Lidya led on developing and implementing strategies and operational efficiencies on the creative and content team and also supported organizational strategy and execution efforts as part of the Chief of Staff team.
Before joining Breakthrough Energy, she worked at Gates Ventures, where she helped launch the Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative, an initiative designed to accelerate progress in Alzheimer’s research. Additionally, Lidya’s background includes roles in government service, where she championed initiatives empowering underserved communities. She served as Outreach Director in the Office of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, focusing on business, commerce, and foreign affairs. Previously, she held multiple positions in the office of former Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, including Scheduling Director for the Lt. Governor, Director of Strategy and Operations for the Young Women’s Initiative of Minnesota, and Appointments Coordinator, where she managed the judicial appointments process.
Lidya is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and is committed to giving back to the community. She currently serves on the board of Resources Enriching African Lives (REAL), an organization dedicated to empowering girls in Oromia, Ethiopia through education.
