Matt Hayden is a Manager of Government Relations with Breakthrough Energy’s U.S. Policy and Advocacy team. In this role, he advances the mission and goals of Breakthrough Energy by advocating for the acceleration of climate and clean energy policies through legislative and government relations strategies.
Matt has over five years of experience working for members on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He also managed the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis work for a member of the Committee. Prior to his career in public service, Matt gained technical experience in chemical processing plants during college.
An Ohio native, Matt graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dayton. He lives in DC with his wife, Pam and their dog, Coco. While not at work, Matt enjoys activities such as playing golf, hockey, and cycling.
