Our Team Philipp Offenberg Director, Europe

Philipp has a decade of experience in energy and high-level public policy making. He joined Breakthrough Energy in January 2020. As Director, Europe, he is responsible for BE’s EU policy program, transatlantic strategy, and work in Germany and Central and Eastern Europe.

Between 2016-2019, Philipp worked as an Advisor on energy and climate policy in the strategy department of former European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker. Prior to that he was a Research Associate at both the King’s College London and at the Jacques Delors Institute Berlin. He also worked at the consulting firm Accenture, on the Utilities and Resources team.

His educational background combines a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, and a Master of Communications, Political Science and History from the University of Mainz, Germany.
