Our Team Uma Trivede Associate, Fellowship Experience

Uma Trivede joined Breakthrough Energy in May 2022. As an Associate on the Fellowship Experience Team, she works on developing and implementing a top tier program experience for innovators and entrepreneurs creating climate-focused technologies from around the world.

Before joining Breakthrough Energy, Uma worked at The Women’s Bakery – a social enterprise that gainfully employs women and provides access to nutritious bread in East Africa. At The Women’s Bakery, she led several internal and external communications projects, donor stewardship, and fundraising campaigns. Prior to her experience with The Women’s Bakery, Uma worked in Washington D.C. managing international exchange programs that promote public diplomacy.

Uma earned a Master’s Degree in International Human Rights from The Josef Korbel School of International Studies at The University of Denver, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from Whitman College. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Uma is currently based in Seattle, WA where she enjoys exploring the outdoors, experimenting in the kitchen, and engaging in community service.
