Clean Tech Policy Impact Assessment The whole is greater than the sum of the parts

Recently enacted legislation can help the US lead in clean technology

In the Clean Tech Policy Impact Assessment, BCG analyzed how recent legislation, including the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), CHIPS and Science Act, and the Energy Act of 2020, impacts U.S. opportunity and remaining challenges for clean technology deployment.

The analysis is broken down by technology below. Additionally, a cross-technology summary compiles top takeaways across the entire technology portfolio and focuses on remaining non-cost barriers that need to be addressed through smart implementation and future policy.

The Assessment builds on a two-part series of studies commissioned by Breakthrough Energy and Third Way where Boston Consulting Group (BCG) looked at the climate and economic opportunities for the U.S. across the value chains for 10 high-priority clean technologies.

BCG found numerous opportunities for the U.S. to make strategic investments in climate action that also have significant potential to deliver long-term economic benefits at home. Breakthrough Energy wrote about the series in our newsroom:
